Maine Dept. of Transportation - U.S. Route 1 Project
Improvements to the section of U.S. Route 1 from just South of the Gin Cove Road to just North of US. Route 190 are being underataken by the Maine Department of Transporation. The project began in May of 2006 and constructions crews worked most of the winter. Much progress has been made The 4.5 miles of road will be reconstructed at a cost of $6,575,000.00. The 45th Parallel Rest Area will be maintained and improved.
