The Perry Elementary School playground was condemned by the Maine Department of Labor Safety Works program and was removed in the fall of 2005. The children at the school did not have any playground equipment that entire school year. A minimum goal of $30,000.00 was set to purchase and install new equipment. Local businesses and friends of Perry Elementary School were very generous in their support of the project and were able to meet that goal. The basic groundwork was completed and some new equipment installed.
At the beginning of the 2006 fall semester the students were able to play on a new jungle gym, monkey bars, and swings. More items continue to be added!
